Forte Analytical, Disa Teaming on High-Pressure Slurry Ablation Testwork

Forte Analytical, LLC and Disa, LLC have teamed up to complete further testing on Disa's patented HPSA (High-Pressure Slurry Ablation) technology. Disa is completing testwork at the Forte Analytical laboratory to further refine the HPSA process and is utilizing the various analytical equipment to better understand the effectiveness of the process on various sample materials.

Disa is dedicated to developing sustainable technology solutions for minerals processing and remediation applications that increase recoveries and reduce waste generation, thereby, significantly lowering project costs. Separating valuable material from invaluable material is expensive and inefficient. 50% of total energy in the mining industry is for ore size reduction, which means that up to 4% of global electrical energy is used for ore size reduction. Moreover, less than 2% of this energy produces new surface area. Disa’s patented HPSA platform technology has the potential to offer better mineral liberation/separation efficiencies and unit economics than any other commercial technology.

Disa’s HPSA technology is a new particle attrition and slurry conditioning technology that works on the principle of collisions between two or more high-pressure slurry jets to achieve disassociation and liberation of soft to medium type hardness ores. Through successful test results with stakeholders in the uranium/vanadium, potash, phosphate, hydrocarbon, and iron industries, among others, Disa is focused on the development and scale up of HPSA technology via field projects with stakeholders and testing campaigns with Forte Dynamics and Forte Analytical.

Forte Analytical is an independent metallurgical research and testing laboratory dedicated to open pit mine and heap leach facility advancement, providing a modern approach to analytical, geotechnical, and metallurgical testing services. Forte Analytical is a division of Forte Dynamics, an engineering and consulting firm known for surface mine and heap leach systems engineering. The Forte group, including Forte Dynamics, Forte Analytical, and Opencontour, provides an expansive list of services to support mining companies in maximizing profits and efficiencies.
